Intention runs in the background behind everything we say or do, shaping the impact of our words and actions, much like the operating system of a computer. And we live with the implications of this spiritual truth whether we recognize it, or not. Perhaps you’ve had the experience of not trusting what someone was telling you even though, on the surface, they are saying the right words? And then there’s the reverse: Someone’s words were quite a jumble, but you trusted them because you knew their intention was to be truthful and helpful.
Remember President Bill Clinton’s testimony before the grand jury in 1998? It was a classic example of this dynamic. His famous “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is,” simply did not resonate as truth to many. Later he explained that his “words were legally accurate” but even so, we realized his core intention was to hide the nature of his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Eventually the truth came out. Clinton, however, was not forced to leave the presidency, which may have been his overriding intention all along.
So it’s not surprising when we work with people in their Akashic Records that they sometimes worry about using just the right words. Whether their intention is to communicate a message, or manifest something new in their life, it’s as if they’ve been taught their language has to be very precise and complete or Spirit won’t be able to deliver, and perhaps they have.
Our Records and Our Souls Read Our Frequency
But that’s not how the Records work at all. Our Records, and our Higher Selves or souls, know our heart’s true intention, even if our language describes something 180 degrees away. Our Akashic Records, you see, and our souls, know our frequency. And our frequency is a reflection of our true thoughts, desires, emotions and beliefs, whether we are consciously aware of them or not.
Fortunately, the more strongly we connect to our souls and the Divine — be it through our Records, mediation, prayer, nature or something else — the more those higher aspects of ourselves govern our frequency, and the higher and stronger that frequency becomes.
So, yes, sometimes our words closely align with our actual vibration, and on other occasions they simply impact our frequency a bit. But no matter what, the Records resonate beyond our words and hear what we really mean. And this is true, whether or not we consciously know what we truly mean.
Several of us talked about this dynamic last week on our monthly Akashic call. We were sharing examples our Records had given of when our heart’s intention was trusted by others, even though our words and/or actions might not have been crystal clear. We also looked at when our intentions were clouded by our actions, or may not have held enough light to support the outcomes or impact we sought. No surprise, it was an interesting call.
When the first person to share began by saying she really didn’t understand the question, I reacted with “Oh great, I’ve written a question on the dynamics of confused intentions, and they find it confusing. This is not good!” Nevertheless, four key themes emerged from the Akashic guidance.
Check in With Your Heart
“Well, in the end I just realized that getting my heart and intention on the same page would be a good thing!” the first speaker summarized, despite her confusion about the question I’d written. Not surprisingly, the group concurred. Personally, I’ve found the Records to be a great avenue for letting my soul reveal the thoughts, fears and other emotions that are creating my vibration in ways I can’t imagine from my human vantage point. And I know this group would agree, or they wouldn’t keep coming to these calls.
Keep it Simple
“Simplify!” was the theme the next person shared, as she described how her mom needs simple, clear messages and directions to understand others’ intentions at this point in her life. Believe me, this guidance does not apply only to children and seniors. While some thought leaders in the field of manifestation teach the importance of specificity and detail, you’ll notice they also talk about not being too attached to a specific outcome. Leaving room for our souls, and the rest of Divinity, to fill out the framework of our intentions allows our lives to expand beyond our dreams.
Be Patient With Divine Timing: Allow Change to Occur
After telling us she was wearing a T-shirt with the word “simplify” emblazoned across the front, the next person relayed her disappointment that relatively few of her intentions for the year seem to be manifesting. Her Records offered assurance. “Be patient,” they said. “These intentions are coming.” And then came this wisdom: “Be willing to allow change so change can happen.”
This one is big and important. So many people are frustrated and feeling stuck. It’s been a big theme in Akashic Records readings for a long time in a way that wasn’t true a couple of years ago. And it’s true. Often our unwillingness to change slows, and even blocks what our souls are trying to offer, which brings us to the fourth major theme. . .
Be Flexible About the Outcome
“It was helpful to have it be confusing!” said one of the last of the group to share. She then explained that because she didn’t clearly understand the question, she had no choice but to open more fully, and simply rely on what was coming from her Records. So by the time she finished with, “It was all perfect,” I had surrendered to the magic of the irony.
My pure heart’s intention in bringing through these questions is to support people’s spiritual growth and comfort in their Records. I assumed clarity was an essential component of my intention. And while that may often be key, that night it was not. Simplicity, and flexibility about how my intention would manifest were more important in this case.
Other stories that night reinforced the truth that the higher, soul-level, pure heart’s intentions can shape outcomes beyond our ego’s imaginations. And of course, we saw that the converse also is true. Our ego’s intentions to accomplish something at the expense of another person can backfire and come back to haunt us.
And still, there is something about our interactions with children that bring this dynamic into crisp focus. “No matter what I say, my daughter always knows whether I am coming into her room at night to connect and hear about her day, or to try to get her to go to sleep.” Yup – score another one for the purity of intention to which kids and seniors can’t help but connect.
After all, what parent doesn’t cherish their five-year-old child’s poetry and stick figure drawing far beyond a new gold watch gifted 30 years later? It’s nearly impossible for any “thing we give” our parents as adults to top the “things we made” as children. Our only shot later in life is to focus on the “time we spend,” the “words we say” and our “willingness to listen,” – all of which matter most when they are pure gifts of the heart.
