Stillness. Emptiness. Space. People often ask if there are any themes coming through the Akashic Records, and these days the answer is this: For many of us, our soul’s call for stillness, for emptiness and for space is avoidable no more.
And the longer we have been busy, productive and among the habitually highly-accomplished, the more this may be true. Heresy you say? Well, maybe so. But it also is truth, or rather Truth, with a capital T. And this Truth is ready to send Go-Go/Do-Do, its cousin Make-Things-Happen, and other members of the Make-the-Plan-Work-the-Plan Clan to the curb.
I’ve written about this dynamic before, but we are in a new phase of humanity’s evolving away from forcing and fighting and toward being and allowing. Our Records are saying that the journey to The Land Beyond Your Wildest Dreams is one of flow. And this flow is created and directed by our hearts and souls.
So, what specifically does this look like in people’s lives?
Surrendering to Stillness
Well, one person has been dealing with very painful leg cramps nearly every night for quite a long time. She’s tried so many remedies – topical magnesium, magnesium and potassium supplements, dietary changes, more exercise — and the list continues. Her Records showed me a picture of her running. No, she’s not a runner. But she did feel as though her schedule had her on the treadmill of life. Going and doing from one appointment to another, even after she had cut down on her client load significantly. She was exhausted.
Then she described a week at the beach with a friend where they had no schedule. They simply made up their days as they were inspired. And she loved it.
“Your soul wants you to take a month off,” her Records said through me. “And sooner rather than later,” they piped in as she was looking for some time three months away. “Really, no appointments. Your soul and your heart want to run the show. And things like doctor’s appointments? Don’t go if you don’t want to – even if you have to pay as a no-show. Don’t want to meditate one morning? Then don’t.”
For the next two nights she experienced no leg cramps – something she hadn’t known in a long time. She’s come to understand that the energy behind the cramps has been stress built up over her days. And now if that energy appears during the night she surrenders it to the Divine and goes back to sleep.
Emptiness Opens the Door to New Possibilities
Soon after that session in the Records, I got an email from a colleague cancelling a group meeting that evening. Again the theme was the soul’s call for stillness. She knew what she’d been doing in these sessions was ready to change but had succumbed to the popular belief that she needed to be “consistent in order to be successful.”
But that morning she became clear she needs to upgrade her offerings. “I am not yet sure what that will look like but am excited to see the outcome as I surrender my ‘must do’s’ and let the next stage flow more in harmony with where I am at in my own inner journey,” she wrote us.
Space Allows for Something New to Arise
And that’s the whole point of surrendering to stillness, emptiness and space. Our souls want to guide us to “flow more in harmony” with who we are now to next steps we may not be able to envision. That’s different from designing our new future – very different.
This is the wisdom behind the words of author Ekhart Tolle: “Being at ease with not knowing is crucial for answers to come to you.” The emptiness of not knowing allows what our souls want to bring into our lives. We can feel how our hearts light up when a person, or a project, or a party or a trip appears and it’s outside of what we knew to plan. When we stop believing we must have all the answers, and open to what our souls know is best, we can receive that which is beyond our wildest dreams.
