“A CME is coming: Huge sunspot AR2665 exploded on July 14th and hurled a bright coronal mass ejection (CME) into space.” When I read that announcement on Spaceweather.com that morning, I wasn’t the least bit surprised.
Frankly, I was so tired the night before, I thought a flare had happened already, but could find no trace online. Turns out it appeared a couple of hours after I could stay awake no longer.
Then came a big geomagnetic storm that lasted through July 16th and 17th. Apparently, the resulting auroras seen in the Northern Lights were just beautiful. The photos certainly are.
I was pretty low energy then too. After watching these things for a while, I have come to know that this kind of tired means a solar flare has happened, or it will shortly.
The Sun’s Explosions Send Us Negative Ions
You see, these sunspots are actually explosions on the sun. They are so big – apparently 50,000 miles in diameter in some cases — that the ultra-violet radiation plus electro-magnetic waves and particles they send out can be measured on the Earth and seen in our auroras.
Do a little research and you’ll find all kinds of things that help you understand why these energies and their resulting negative ions can make us tired and edgy when they first hit. And you’ll also see that this energy ebb is just the beginning of a much bigger and very exciting process.
Head on over to the HeartMath Institute and you’ll learn how these flares, as well as the Earth’s geomagnetic patterns, also known as the Schumann Resonance, which I wrote about in a prior post, impact EEG patterns, heart rate, blood pressure, heart attacks and incidents of death, as well as our mental and emotional health, hospital admissions, homicides and traffic accidents.
Scientists also link solar flares with satellite communication breakdowns, internet glitches and even electrical blackouts. NASA’s website has an interesting story about how solar flares caused a blackout in the entire province of Quebec in 1989.
But here’s what’s most interesting to me.
Solar Flares Precede Major Historic Events
The HeartMath site and other sources also describe how periods of solar flares are precursors to many historically significant events. Russian scientist Alexander Tchijevsky, credited as founding the field of heliobiology, or the study of the sun’s impact on biology, researched the major historical events in 72 countries from the year 500 BCE until 1922.
His data shows that 80% occurred within five years of major solar activity. Known as the Index of Mass Human Excitability, it outlines an eleven-year pattern of human behavior that rolls from peace, to agitation with the system, to revolt, war and resolution and then to peace once again. The third phase is where we see the maximum sun spot activity.
So, the theory is that as the sun’s activity increases the negative ions in our atmosphere, we humans become edgier, more excitable and more focused on change, even at the cost of violence. Then we have periods of relative peace where we integrate the greater democracy we have created. The US and French revolutions, along with others follow this pattern.
These conflicts also are followed by greater technological and artistic achievement. The Industrial Revolution, for example, followed our Civil War. The period after WWII lead to a huge expansion of the middle class in the US and Europe.
And all of these developments have allowed for greater equality in our society over all. Have we finished this process yet? No, of course not.
Is conflict a precursor of better times and greater consciousness? Apparently so.
And, it looks like we are in a period of increasing solar activity. Hence the polarization and the agitation for change.
What can we learn from this?
Self-Care Enables Us to Integrate These Higher Energies
Well, the Akashic Records concur on the popular advice suggesting self-care and inner reflection.
- Get plenty of rest because our bodies really need it to process these new energies.
- Drink lots of water to help eliminate the toxins these energies shake loose.
- Spend time meditating or in some other practice that connects you to your higher self, and make notes about the guidance available to you now.
- Give yourself the gift of Mother Nature and let her soothe and calm you.
- Eat lots of live foods – vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds to support your body’s ability to make use of these negative ions.
- Watch for the solutions to humanity’s challenges. They are appearing. Shine your light on them rather than feeding the problems with the lower frequencies of resistance.
- Be kind — kind to yourself and kind to others. A lot is going on!
Then, as they finish this, my Akashic Records remind me: “Evolution is continual, and it is cyclical. The depths of what many are experiencing now are also predictive of the heights to which you aspire to evolve.”
I’m so grateful they remind me of the longer view.
