“Well, accessing our Akashic Records is one way to connect to the guidance and healing energies of our souls, spirits, Higher Selves, or whatever you call the aspect of you that is eternal,” I replied to my dinner companion’s question the other night. She’d asked what was new about my work, and I described the new online version of the Akashic Records class Deborah Hellman and I finished teaching over the weekend. Apparently I hadn’t told her before about the Akashic Records sessions and classes I offer, which surprised me. She, too, has been doing coaching and leadership consulting for years, and this would be right up her alley.
“And it isn’t just for the big stuff in our lives,” I pointed out. “Although it is that too. My Records have guided me to and through some of the biggest challenges in my life,” I continued. I didn’t share they’d pointed out that my planned route to the restaurant was likely to take longer than expected. Had I paid attention to that flash, I might not have been late meeting her.
But that’s when I realized I was being guided to take a different tact in answering someone’s question about what the Akashic Records are. That’s when I got it – what we can do and be in the Akashic Records is far more important than what they are. And we’ve heard many many stories about people’s experiences in the Records and how they’ve changed their lives.
Healing Fear, Becoming Nicer
“When I first started, I would open my Records every day and ask ‘What fear can I release today?’ and I would use my Grace Points to release it,” reports one of my long-time Akashic colleagues. “I used to be a very fearful person, but I’m not any more!”
“I’m a nicer person when I am in my Records,” is the first thing another colleague shares every time we have this conversation. “I’m much more in my heart in my Records so I don’t judge, I don’t get bothered,” she often continues.
Greater Flow With Work
Last night, one of the folks who has taken our first-level class shared that she now opens her own Records every time she works with a client. “What I say to them just flows, I don’t have to work so hard. Sometimes I say things I’ve never really thought of before. And it seems to be exactly what they need to hear.”
This is true simply opening her own Akashic Records. She hasn’t taken the class focused on opening the Records of other people and other things. And I have the very same experience, whether I am working one-on-one with someone, or facilitating a team or class.
More Self-Confidence, Better Decision Making
On another call, a person from our pilot class many years ago relayed, “I have more self-confidence in my own decision making. The Records give me clarity, and so I have less worry,” she continued.
“Overall I have more inner peace and less mental churning. My decision to fully retire was made easier and simpler. I’m more in touch with my inner guidance, especially with what to do with my health.” In terms of my finances, I have more trust that the Universe is taking care of me. The Records, especially our monthly calls, have helped with my relationships with others. I’m more connected with my friends and family.” Then she summed it all up by saying, “My ability to connect with my Records has improved practically everything in my life!”
Important Spiritual Growth
“Ascending into my Records has brought me important spiritual growth,” another has told us. “It was hard at first, but now I am comfortable and can maintain it longer,” which obviously helps her when she facilitates Records sessions for others.
“I’m on the board of my church, she continued. “I open my Records before a meeting and can feel them guiding me, which means I have more confidence in my contributions to the discussion. With my health, I’ve let go of a lot of anger. I’ve asked the Divine and my Records to work with me on this, and they have. They certainly helped me when I was going through my divorce, and I still have a loving relationship with my ex.”
“The Records support my meditations,” she continued. “I’m creating a more loving relationship with myself. I’m more okay where I am, and no longer feel I have to be perfect.” She then went on to say that her Records are increasing her understanding about how she could bring in more money. “I want to start opening the Records of my paintings,” she shared.
Help in Manifesting
In addition to greater spiritual growth, another in our community has described how the Records have deepened her friendships. They helped her manifest a job that both supports her financially and is more flexible than her previous role. She also finds that her Reiki energy turns on automatically when she is in her Records, and I often experience that too.
“I am alive because of my Records,” stated another in our group. She’d already described how the Records helped her grieve the loss of a dear friend.
Love and Support in Times of Challenge
Then she read what her Records had said to her: “You would have likely attempted to end this incarnation over the last eight or nine years if not for the love and support received through your Records. The level of betrayal you’ve experienced repeatedly over the last few years otherwise would have been unbearable, and yet you bore it anyway without resorting to the drugs that you did in the past.”
She also shared, “The Records confirmed and validated what I had discovered when I had a near death experience when I was 19.”
So, what are the Akashic Records? For years my standard answer has been some variation of this: “The Akashic Records contain every thought, word, deed, and feeling our souls have experienced since separating from the Oneness. The Bible talks about “the Book of Life” in which every life is recorded. Some think we each have a page in that book and others believe we each have our own book or scroll in a Hall of Records that is overseen by angels.”
But now, thanks to my conversation at dinner, I see how much more helpful it will be if I start answering people’s request for a definition with stories about the impact that connecting to our souls through our Records is having on people’s lives.
A New Definition
So, again, what are the Akashic Records? Well, accessing our Records connects us to our souls’ guidance and healing energies. They are a way to overcome our fears, and to be kinder to ourselves and others. People find that accessing their Records even makes them better when working with clients or participating in meetings. They help them clear out the mind clutter and have more confidence about all kinds of decisions, including those about major health episodes. Several people tell us stories of how the Records have strengthened their spiritual paths, and even bring their Reiki energies through their hands. They’ve even helped people find new jobs that make their lives easier. Others have been supported as they’ve grieved a major loss, myself included. And, no matter what life brings our way, the Records connect us to the love and support of our souls, and to the Light of the Divine.
I’m liking this answer better. I think people will relate more to an explanation than to a definition.
And, as I’ve said many times, the one thing I know for sure about the Akashic Records is that we don’t know what they are. I don’t think that our human brains are yet capable of understanding exactly what the Records are, or how they work.
Now, our hearts? Our hearts understand the truth that comes through the Records, and that truth is apparent in these stories people tell us about the impact working in the Records has had in their lives. That heart-level truth people understand right away.
