What’s next for me in my life?
And it’s especially strong among those who’ve always known what to do in their lives, which of course, makes it particularly disturbing to them. Not only do they not know what to do, they also feel they are missing something that had centered their lives. And that often makes them feel broken in some way.
This is a lot like another veritable epidemic that has so many wondering about their life purpose. These often come hand-in-hand, which means many are experiencing a double-whammy, making this particularly disorienting, painful and even frightening.
If you are wondering whether you’ve read this post before, I understand. I wrote about how many have lost our sense of purpose a couple of months ago.
The good news is that if you are experiencing one or both of these dynamics it means you are right on track. You are paying attention to what’s happening in the Universe and you are helping to lead the evolution of humanity.
And yes, I am aware of the irony here. But, it’s true. Those of us who are among the most confused actually are leading the way.
We’re just not yet at the clarity part of that leadership journey. But we will be.
What can we do in the meantime? Well, there are a few things.
Appreciate Your Strengths
The first, and perhaps the most important, is to remember your strengths, gifts and accomplishments, and appreciate yourself for all you have accomplished and given. Seriously – make a list. Add to it every day.
Yes, it’s self-serving, and that’s exactly the point. It’s self-serving in the way that keeps you positive, strong, motivated and able to give to the world from abundance.
What comes next may build on what you’ve been doing, or not. But it certainly will be rooted in who you are at your core, and you’ll find reflections of your true “who” in the “whats” you’ve offered thus far.
Connect to Your Eternal Self
Which brings us to the second thing you can do right now, and that is to strengthen your “who.” Strengthen your connection to your soul, or higher self, or whatever you call that part of you that is eternal.
Do the things that you know allow you to connect. Meditate. Pray. Connect to your Akashic Records. Go for a walk in nature. Draw. Sing. Dance. Play with your kids. Cook your favorite dish and enjoy it with some of your favorite people.
Feel that joy that comes from your connection. Let it become the light in your heart. And when your heart light begins to overflow, send it wherever you want it to go.
Remember that You are the Light
The third suggestion also builds your true “who.” Remember that “You are the light of the world.”
And you’re not alone here. We all are designed to be the light.
And Matthew 5:14 is not just a Bible verse. “You are the light of the world,” is a truth found in many of the world’s wisdom traditions.
Then, from this light, what’s next for you will appear. It always does, whether you see it that way or not.
