Well, that didn’t take long. Already people are finding that their New Year’s resolutions just aren’t working like they used to – and we’re less than a week into 2018.
“I always diet in January,” said someone scheduling an Akashic session. “But I couldn’t get myself to throw out the holiday leftovers, and so far I’ve had Christmas cookies two breakfasts in a row. I’ve never done that!”
For many, the confusion started before the first of the year. Even long-time resolution practitioners are bewildered.
So, what’s going on?
Alignment with Your Soul
Well, this is another symptom of the dynamic behind Presence is the New Planning and Being is the New Doing. In short, action that is cooked up by our heads, but is not in alignment with our souls or higher selves, no longer gets us where we want to go. And sometimes it actually backfires.
When are resolutions least likely to stick?
Some resolutions that don’t work long-term stem from a concern that we “should” do this, or we “should” be that. Or they may come from a belief that is both outside of us, and out of alignment with our authentic and higher truth.
But the biggest problem is when resolutions come from a place inside us that says we’re not good enough, we’re broken, or we need to be some misunderstanding of “perfect.”
Nixing these resolutions that make us less than rather than more of our divinity is our souls’ way of enticing us to co-create our lives with them.
Are there resolutions that are off to a good start? Sure.
New Year’s resolutions that are inspired by our Divine Selves – whether or not we recognize that consciously – naturally work well because they come with that higher support.
Resolutions that work also focus on being more of what we do want to become, rather than less of what we don’t. In short, they are positive.
They’re aimed at abundance rather than not spending. They’re focused on creating more health rather than stopping some bad habit.
They recognize that when we vibrate in coherence with our souls, the “bad” stuff simply falls away. We just don’t want to be or do that anymore. We’re not attracted to it.
And because we are focusing on creating more of what our souls desire, we are not generating any force against what we don’t want. That means we’re not creating any resistance, blow back, or equal and opposite reaction that would impede positive flow.
Rather than slogging and struggling to achieve our New Year’s resolutions, positive, soul-inspired resolutions make the process smoother, easier and more fulfilling. They allow us to naturally hold more light.
So, how are your New Year’s resolutions going? Maybe now’s the time to do a little editing so you can create what your soul desires?
