“I believe that appreciation is a holy thing – – that when we look for what’s best in a person we happen to be with at the moment, we’re doing what God does all the time. So, in loving and appreciating our neighbor, we are participating in something sacred.”
Looking for what’s best in a person. Holding that in our heart.
Radiating what’s best in that person right back to them.
That way, if they need to reclaim their best, because maybe they’ve forgotten it for a while, they can catch it from us like a virus.
And then they can reclaim their best, and own it, and live from it, once again.
They can step into that space we hold, almost as if they never left. Because we kept it warm, and we kept it lit.
Sometimes they even fill that space so fully they expand beyond it, now offering more of their gifts to the world.
That, to me, is the definition and the magic of holding space for someone or some thing.
And, it’s always an honor, whether I’m holding space as an Akashic Records facilitator, or as a “regular” coach.
So, when I saw Fred Rogers’ quote on Facebook, it really resonated. I stopped searching for information on the crack that developed in the earth’s magnetic field on the equinox.
No, my Records sent me to Facebook to find this quote from the long-time host of the beloved children’s program “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” on public television.
And the timing couldn’t be better, because there is a lot to hold space for right now. There is a lot that needs holy appreciation.
In all these years of holding space, I hadn’t really put together that “looking for what’s best in a person…” is “…what God does all the time.” But that is so true.
And the beauty of that truth is the companion realization that we can do this sacred work too.
So, is there someone in your life who is driving you crazy? Well, what do you appreciate about them? What are their gifts?
Hold that person using those gifts in your heart and shine that appreciation to them. It doesn’t matter where they are. This will still help them. And, it will help you too.
Wish something were different in the world, or in your neighborhood? See and feel where that dream exists now. Imagine its expansion, hold that in your heart, and radiate that appreciation into the world. Wish something were different in the world, or in your neighborhood? Once again, it doesn’t matter where “it” is. This will help it. And once again, it will help you too.
By the way, have you been feeling out of sorts for the last couple of weeks? Tired? Agitated? Depressed? Unable to sleep well?
Well, sometimes the Earth’s magnetic field develops a crack or a fissure at the spring or fall equinox, especially if the solar activity is intense. The folks at SpaceWeather put it this way:
“The sun is leaking solar wind. Our planet has been inside a disorganized gaseous stream blowing 400-500 km/s for more than 5 days. This has kept Earth’s magnetic field in an unsettled state…”
HeartMath has done some great research on the impact of solar activity on our bodies. They’ve also written about how these periods of solar activity lead to social unrest, and later to leaps in our evolution.
And since I’ve already written a bit about this phenomenon, rather than write more, I’m holding space for our spiritual expansion and evolution. Care to join me?
