“Being is the New Doing” was the topic of our Akashic Gathering conference call last week. It was inspired by people’s reaction to the Presence is the New Planning blog post I had written three weeks before.
The Akashic Records of the Gathering wanted us to look at when it’s easy to be present and receive higher guidance, and, of course, what gets in our way. That’s the whole point of these monthly calls: They provide a structure and process to see how we are applying the spiritual principles and practices in our lives, and receive guidance on where to go next.
First we asked our Records to show us two or three times in our lives when we experienced the perfect balance of being and doing. Then, for each of those examples, we asked what led to “perfect balance,” what we were trying to be or do on the conscious level, whether we realized we had achieved perfect balance at the time and what we were thinking and feeling.
Out of Balance
Next we asked the same questions about times when we were not at all balanced between being and doing. From there we looked for themes and what, if anything, we were being guided to do differently about balancing being and doing in our lives.
After all of these years, I’m still amazed at how much can come through in the 20 to 25 minutes we spend answering these questions in our Records. Then, once we’re back together, we discuss what our Records suggest we share.
For some that’s a lot. From others, we hear just a few key highlights. And, always, I learn a lot.
No surprise, there were several common themes.
As for when it is easy to balance being and doing, being connected to Source, or the Divine was at the top of the list. No surprise there.
Also popular were being in nature, focusing internally rather than externally and knowing what our hearts desire. Funny how these answers exemplify popular ways to connect to the Divine, don’t you think?
And what gets in the way of that balance? Well, being tired, getting caught off guard, focusing first on external factors, judgment and power struggles or other conflict were popular.
But what was at the top of the out-of-balance list? Fear – the exact opposite of connecting to the Divine.
So, which comes first? Balancing being and doing to be present enough to connect to higher guidance, or connecting to the Divine to balance being and doing?
The answer? Whatever works best for you in the moment.
Would you like to explore the possibilities?
Living my life with guidance from my Records has brought me more joy than I ever imagined. True, some sessions have been hard, but in every case, the reward has greatly exceeded the challenge. And while some may view the idea of connecting with their Akashic Records as being “woo woo,” I find it quite grounding and practical.
